Linguistic mediation.

Subject: Linguistic mediation.

Dear Madames/ Sirs.

I have been participating since 2007 in the struggle of the disabled in the State of Israel – and since July 10, 2018 I have been doing so as part of the movement “nitgaber” – transparent disabled people which I joined.

After for many years activity inside the State of ISRAEL was of no use, I decided to turn to many sources outside the State of ISRAEL – and this as a final step of desperation.

But there is another problem: I am a Hebrew speaker, and my knowledge of foreign languages is extremely poor – and apart from English at a medium to low level and French at a very low level, I have no additional knowledge in this area.

My question to you is: Do you know any companies that provide a linguistic mediation or mediation service, which could possibly be used in such a case?

Regards,

assaf benyamini.

A. Below is the email I sent to the lecturers of the Department of Women’s and Gender Studies at the University of Haifa:

To: Department of Women’s and Gender Studies, University of Haifa.

Subject: A proposal for a research topic.

Dear Madames/ Sirs.

In the years preceding the First World War, there was apparently an organization of British women on the one hand, and of German women on the other – an organization whose purpose was to bring reconciliation between the nations and prevent war.

After the war apparently broke out in August 1914, the activity of this organization was completely stopped, the British women who were members of it joined the war effort of their country, their members of the organization until recently, the German women joined the German war effort – and as far as is known, this organization disappeared, disbanded and its activity was never renewed.

Where can you find the story of this organization, and of course the stories of the women who were members of it? Are there any other details about this organization (what was the name of the organization, its political activity and the reasons for its failure, did this organization have connections with the suffragist movement in England that was known to be active at the end of the 19th century, etc.)?

I would like to point out that I am not a researcher and I have nothing to do with Haifa University – and I am sending this letter as a proposal only – and nothing beyond that.

Regards,

assaf benyamini.

[23:06, 7.11.2022] Assaf Binyamini: What is the question?

[1:58, 8.11.2022] +972 53-522-2014: Great, great, I’m Shahar, and the truth is I contacted you because we are looking for serious people over the age of 20 who want to generate an additional income of between 2000-4000 NIS per month from their free time, from a job of Two hours a day via mobile (no previous experience necessary).

I wanted to ask if it might interest you to hear about the possibility of income in your spare time?

[11:23, 8.11.2022] Assaf Binyamini: Is this the B Hip Global company? Or maybe in the Travelor company?

If it is one of these two companies, I would also recommend you to run away from them as quickly as possible.

They promise “passive income” so to speak, requiring payments to start the process. After they collect payments even later they simply disappear with the money – and no one will be able to help anymore. Of course you will never see the money they promised you would make.

These are liars, bad people, very sophisticated and also manipulative.

Certainly my acquaintance with them (I was at a meeting of B Hip Global in February 2020 – shortly before the start of the corona epidemic and the closures that accompanied it). After noticing the manipulations they do while taking advantage of the plight of the weakest people in society, I did not continue with them – and even reported them to the Israeli Center for Victims of Cults.

And in conclusion: since I’m not looking for trouble, I have no intention of joining – and that’s how I recommend it to you or anyone else.

Regards,

Asaf Benjamin.

[11:38, 8.11.2022] Assaf Binyamini: And I am sending you here a link to an article that was broadcast on a state television channel (here 11) about the B Hip Global company https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmqOIDlDR24Any

further words are unnecessary… With regards, assaf benyamini.

[11:41, 8.11.2022] +972 53-522-2014: Nice bro, good luck

[11:41, 8.11.2022] +972 53-522-2014: Articles do not promote anyone except writers

[11:44, 8.11.2022] assaf benyamini: It is possible that the B Hip Global company filed a silence claim against the first channel in this matter – I don’t know. This is their way of continuing to threaten and prevent the exposure of their criminal acts. Do you have extra money that you want to donate to B Hip Global? So there is no problem – continue with them. I promise you that you won’t make money with them – only trouble and complications.

The decision is yours.

for your consideration.

Subject: Equipment inspection.

Dear Madames/ Sirs.

About six months ago I purchased a notebook computer pcdeal.co.il.

Recently (I am writing these words on October 21, 2022) my computer has had several malfunctions that occur randomly: a black screen that suddenly appears, a computer that suddenly freezes and keys on the keyboard that suddenly do not respond.

The company from which I bought the computer (company pcdeal.co.il) is located in the northern region in ISRAEL – and since I live in Jerusalem, apparently bringing the computer to them, testing the equipment in the laboratory, and then returning the equipment and reinstalling it at my place will be a very cumbersome process that will take a long time (and therefore it will probably not be possible – and although there is a warranty for all the equipment) – and this is because there are two additional difficulties here:

1) I don’t have a car or driver’s license – so I have no ability to bring the computer to them myself. Due to my physical disability, my economic hardship as well as the considerable geographical distance, bringing the equipment to the company by taxi is also not possible.

2) Due to my physical disability, I am not able to pack the equipment at home by myself in a carton before transferring it to the laboratory. For exactly the same reason, I can’t take care of reinstalling the computer after it comes back from the test.

Therefore, I am looking for a company active in the Jerusalem area, from which this service can be obtained.

It is perfectly clear to me that the warranty on the computer will not be relevant in such a case – however, since the ability to work with a computer is an essential thing these days, I cannot afford a prolonged period of several weeks or perhaps even more in which I will not have access to a computer (this is the only computer which I have at home – and in my situation I cannot afford to purchase another computer).

Do you know a company that operates in the Jerusalem area that can offer such a service? And if so – at what costs? I would like to point out that many technicians I have already contacted have unfortunately tried to cheat with all kinds of outrageous tricks: for example: a technician who insisted that he could only come to me at the end of his work day, at a time when all the stores were already closed – and in this way he actually tried to make a payment on me and charge me double the price without any justification. Or technicians who want to take NIS 250 from me just for the inspection – even before they’ve even checked anything on the computer (and we’re talking about people who come from another neighborhood in Jerusalem – and the fuel expenses really don’t justify the exorbitant price they’re asking.

Hello to Mrs. Sarah Netanyahu:

Subject: job search.

Dear Madame.

These days I am looking for a job. Recently (I am writing these words on Sunday, October 18, 2020) I read about a project called “Honey Badger” – in the framework of which technology giants such as Google or Facebook operate a contracting company based in the city of Manila in the Philippines. The role of the employees in this company, or in other contracting companies (the number of companies engaged in this field is unknown) is to remove problematic content (drugs, prostitution, pedophilia, broadcasts of executions or terrorist activity, etc.) from the Internet. In 2018, Monday May Cinema Germans named Hans Block and Moritz Reiswick produced a documentary film called “Internet Cleaners” about the work of the workers in these companies.

My question to you is: do you know about companies that are engaged in this field, to which you can contact for the purpose of applying for a job?

I will point out that I am fully aware of the offensive nature of such work in relation to those engaged in it: according to various publications, many of the people who worked in these jobs committed suicide, or alternatively developed very serious mental and physical illnesses as a result of constant and daily exposure to the difficult content. But this does not deter me, and this is because I have nothing left to lose in my life anyway – and for many years now I have not been able to return to the job market (all other options of helping organizations, job boards or contacting many companies directly have been exhausted – and for many years ).

To the Finance Committee of the Knesset Peace be upon you:

Recently, I sent the appeal to “Clalit Mushlam” which rejected my request for a refund for essential orthopedic equipment.

I urge you to reconsider the policy and legislation in this matter – people who live on a disability allowance from the National Insurance Institute have a very difficult time, and in many cases simply cannot bear a sudden financial expenditure of this kind.

I assume (although I haven’t checked, and I have no way to check it) that many disabled people are forced to give up this service due to the inability to pay 600 shekels for orthopedic shoes. I think there is an urgent need to change the legislation and procedures in this regard. This is not a luxury product, but a critical medical equipment. For your reference. Regards, Asaf Binyamini.

Dear Madames/ Sirs.

Recently (I am writing these words on Thursday, October 13, 2022) I had to purchase orthopedic shoes in the amount of NIS 600 – which is a heavy financial burden for a person like me who lives on a very low income – a disability allowance from the National Insurance Institute.

My question in this regard is: am I entitled to a refund?

I would appreciate it if you could elaborate as much as possible regarding this.

I. Here are some ideas I thought about:

1) As you know, there are many, many platforms, websites and software on the Internet – while many of them do not have explanations in Hebrew regarding the way they work, their purpose, the conditions for using them, etc. Of course, there are videos on YouTube where you can find explanations in Hebrew on various topics – however, there are platforms in relation to which there are explanations in English or other foreign languages only – and sometimes there are people (including the writer of these lines) who find it very difficult to understand explanations in English or other foreign languages, and they are actually “Lost” and cannot understand how many platforms on the net work. Of course, using the automatic translation services of Google Translate or other automatic translation services do not help because of the many mistakes in the translations. In this situation the Hebrew speaker will not get help, and the unclear translation full of mistakes will only create much greater confusion and lack of understanding. The challenge is to create a system based on artificial intelligence, which will “know” upon entering the website’s domain address or the url that is suitable to automatically give a clear explanation in Hebrew as to how the intended platform works. Such a system must include within it the possibility of sharing and the possibility of receiving additional explanations – and this if, for one reason or another, the automatic explanation in Hebrew that the system gives is not clear enough for one or another user.

Of course, after such a platform is operational, it will be possible to suggest to programmers in other languages to develop similar systems for speakers of the same local language who are not fluent in other languages.

2) A network whose purpose is to facilitate discussions of raising ideas – and contradicting or refuting them. And the meaning: the discussion is conducted as follows: some user on the network brings up an idea or statement of one kind or another – and other users who join the discussion must try to prove that the idea put forward by that user is not true – and on the other hand, the person who put forward the idea must continue to try to defend it and explain why it is indeed true . A discussion that will always consist of claims and counter-claims.

3) A network of ordering demonstrations. As we know, there are social activists who try to promote various issues – however for one reason or another they are unable to go out on the street and demonstrate. The purpose of this social network will be to “match” the issues that those social activists will try to promote and other people in the same network whose role will be to go out and demonstrate for those ideas.

4) A network of censored content. As you know, the technology giants like Google, Facebook, Apple, Amazon, etc. sometimes block different users because of one or another content that those users upload. The idea is to create a social network that will serve as a sort of “shelter” for all those users who have been blocked – and of course such a network will not have censorship or restrictions of any kind on uploading content.

5) A social network of strange content. It means a social network, which will be dedicated exclusively to uploading crazy or delusional content or ideas. Accordingly any content that is too logical or realistic will be blocked immediately. The challenge will be, of course, to develop an algorithm whose goal will be to try and locate those contents that are too smart or logical in order to block them. Users will be able to file an appeal – and if it turns out that the uploaded content is indeed delusional and illogical or too realistic, the same content will be returned to the site.

Subject: foreign internet provider.

Dear Madames/ Sirs.

I am a customer of the “Bezeq” company from the Jerusalem area, and I subscribe to the service of an Internet connection and a telephone line.

In the last year (I am writing these words on Friday, November 11, 2022 – a few hours before Shabbat) a particularly outrageous behavior on their part has been repeated again and again: even though I am a subscriber, and also pay the best of my money for the fiber optic service, the Internet connection disconnects again and again – Just like that and for no reason. Also, sometimes web pages of completely legitimate sites do not come up, just like that and for no reason. Also in many cases surfing the Internet becomes very slow – also without any reason or justification. Every time I contact the technical teams of Bezeq, the problem is solved in a timely manner – however, it always repeats itself again a short time later. I have begged them many times to fix all the problems once and for all, and that I am already tired of having these stupid arguments with them again and again – however I have not received any serious and true answer in this matter – and time and time again I encounter their disdainful and irritating attitude and I am unable to get the service from them I am entitled and I pay for it.

My question is: Is it technically possible to receive service from a foreign internet provider (located outside the territory of the State of Israel)? Or is it because of the fact that “Bezeq” has a monopoly on the infrastructure that reaches homes in Israel, that even if I manage to connect to a foreign internet provider it will not actually have any meaning and therefore such a test is unnecessary in the first place?

Subject: A proposal for a research topic.

Dear Madames/ Sirs.

At the end of World War II, there was a demand from the Soviet Union to deport all German minorities and populations from eastern europe. As we know, these are populations that lived in various countries in eastern europe who arrived there following the Austro-Hungarian Empire, which disintegrated after the end of the First World War. It is also well known the role of these populations in helping the evil armies of Nazi Germany and its occupation in the first stages of World War II. When the demand comes from the direction of the Russians, politically and militarily it was an intermediate stage between the end of World War II and the beginning of the Cold War and the inter-block struggle between the United States and the Soviet Union that would come later. And since at this stage the Western powers that won the war, namely: the United States, England and France, were still in an alliance with the Soviet Union, then in order to carry out the deportation, the consent of the Western powers was needed – which eventually gave their consent and placed a condition before the Russians: a demand that the deportation be carried out-And many acts of cruelty and horror were committed in it against the civilian population. As part of this deportation – deportation of a population of 16 million Germans back to their homeland, there was a short period in which a camp operated by a Jew named Shlomo Morel operated – a camp where German prisoners were imprisoned. And several questions arise here: Where can the story of this camp be found? And did Shlomo Morel, or other managers in the camp, have a connection with the Avengers movement? And did the same Shlomo Morel have a family connection to the ISRAELI advertiser Motti Morel, who is known to have been killed in a car accident in Tel Aviv on April 17, 2018?

And in conclusion: I have never worked in Yad Vashem institute, and I have no direct personal involvement with the matter.

I am writing these words as a suggestion only – and nothing more than that.

Regards,

assaf benyamini.

Subject: Project proposal.

Dear Madames/ Sirs.

I am a person who suffers from a physical disability, because of which I find it more and more difficult to lift things that accidentally fall on the floor (something that is known to happen from time to time in almost every residential apartment). I use a facility/aid called “hand extender” – which is:

As you can see, this device can be effective when it comes to a solid object that sometimes needs to be lifted from the floor. But as you know sometimes there are cases where what accidentally falls on the floor is a liquid and not a solid, such as: soup accidentally spilled on the floor, oil accidentally spilled, etc.

When it comes to healthy people, of course, there is no problem with taking a rag and cleaning what is needed – however, people like me who suffer from a physical disability that is getting worse and worse sometimes have difficulty making the back and forth movement with the hand while cleaning the floor with the rag.

For these reasons, I have been looking for a long time for a product that I could purchase, which would include a suitable attachment mechanism for the hand extender whose picture I have attached here, and which would be able to soak up the liquid spilled on the floor (and for the reasons I mentioned, a normal rag does not do the job in such a case).

I will point out that I am not a nursing person, but due to health difficulties I definitely need such a product. It should be remembered that people in my situation spend most of their time alone, and without another person who can be by their side and help in such a situation (and I don’t need such help today either).

In any case, and after many searches, which also included referring the question to the MILBAT organization, to companies that are engaged in the production of ergonomic products (as we know, there are very few such companies in ISRAEL, and from the tests I did, it became clear to me, for example, that in the entire Jerusalem area there are only one small business that deals with this) and to various chains and also to factories where cleaning materials are produced, it became clear to me that apparently no such product exists as of today.

Therefore, my question to you is: would you be interested in offering such a product development project to students studying the field of product design?

My hope is that if and when there is a product like this, and there is also the financial feasibility of marketing it, it will be able to help many other disabled or sick people as well.
