Patients in the field of psychiatry.

Subject: Patients in the field of psychiatry.

A.G.N.

Recently (I am writing these words on Sunday, September 6, 2020) I conducted the attached correspondence with journalist Adi Shuv from the IDF – and I claim that there is discrimination against patients of psychiatrists, which I explain. This discrimination is manifested in the fact that unlike patients of physicians from other professions in medicine, patients of psychiatrists are not given the opportunity to switch to another attending physician – if they so wish. In my view, this discrimination is taken against the mentally handicapped solely because of their illness and disability.

What do you think about it? Are my claims justified?

Regards,

Assaf Binyamini.

On August 10, 2018, I joined a social movement called “Overcome” – a movement that aims to promote the rights of the visually impaired, ie: people like me, who suffer from medical problems and severe disabilities that are not conspicuously visible to the outside world. This external invisibility causes very severe discrimination against us — and thus we struggle. The movement’s founder, and who also runs it today, is Mrs. Tatiana Kaduchkin, and you can get a phone call from her at 972-52-3708001 on Sundays to Thursdays between the hours.

I enlisted the help of a professional translation company to write this document.

I saw the application you submitted.

As I mentioned in the conversation, I am still in the overlap phase so the items I submit move to an editor’s decision.

At this point it was decided not to engage in the subject.

I would love to be in touch with you if it becomes relevant.

To Adi Shalom Rav:

Subject: Request for consultation.

G.N..

On Wednesday, July 29, 2020, I sent the attached message to the social worker with whom I am being monitored – about frightening and disturbing information that was discovered to me by chance about a psychiatrist named Dr. Amiram Gafni with whom I am being monitored..

I will note that I am at a loss for advice — I am merely a patient in his clinic and not a professional. On the other hand, the information about the doctor’s behavior is very frightening and disturbing – and I do not want God forbid more patients to be harmed..

I would like to know if you can advise me how to drive.

Hello Tal:

In a free Google search, I discovered disturbing and frightening information about Dr. Amiram Gafni – regarding his treatment of his patients over the years(Including at least one case of physical assault – an incident on which his ex-patient testifies on youtube, who did not identify himself by name. According to the same man, the incident took place at the “Hiba” mental health clinic at Maayan Hayeshua Medical Center in Bnei Brak.N:

As you know, I am mentally injured – and for this reason you may choose to ignore my remarks and the warning I seek to bring to the attention of other potential patients who may be harmed by Dr. Gafni – the decision is in your hands.

I think one has to think about what to do about this information — information I came across during a regular internet search — and quite by chance (until a few minutes ago I had never heard of a clinic called “Affection,” and never thought of such a thing at all — and at first I did not I knew what It’s an affection clinic ‘or whatever it is.

At your discretion – you can watch the video, if you are interested – and judge for yourself.

: [email protected] -3.9.2020, 10:18 Hello again, Mrs. Adi:

Subject: Conduct of a psychiatric clinic.

A.G.N..

On Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at 9:10 am I made a phone call to the number 972-2-6444111 to the psychiatric clinic at 34 Brazil Street in Jerusalem. I asked to stop the follow-up with Dr. Amiram Gafni with whom I was treated until today – and to go for follow-up with another doctor (I asked for this due to Dr. Gafni’s conduct towards me).

The clinic clerk named Limor, who answered my phone call, refused to allow me to cross – and on the ridiculous claim that she was alive, she should ask the clinic director to “check if it’s okay” – in her words.

I believe that this is my basic right as a patient — and the clerk in the clinic has no right or authority to prevent me from going to another doctor in the clinic.

I want to know how I can exercise this basic right.

I have been asking for many years with my right organization. From past experience I know that they will not be able to help in such a case. I will note that I have meanwhile left the clinic – after the clinic director contacted me by phone and placed my arrival for a clarification call with her so that she could consider whether to approve me beyond another doctor. I have been countless times in the past in such clarification conversations with clinic managers that have never yielded any results. Every time I was in such a clarification call the situation returned to normal after a very short time — after which I was again invited to a clarification call that again did not lead to any results — and so on. I think there is a question of principle here, and I raise it even though at this stage it is irrelevant to me (I, as mentioned, have left the clinic in the meantime). When a person wants to go to another family doctor, another neurologist or another orthopedist the HMOs allow the transition and do not pile so many obstacles in front of him. However, When a patient wants to go to another psychiatrist the clinics pile multiple obstacles in his face and do not allow the transition in the vast majority of cases. I believe that since the profession of psychiatry is a medical profession just like any other medical profession, there is no reason why patients of psychiatrists should be discriminated against compared to patients of doctors from other medical professions.

And to sum up: I do not know if the field interests you or other people who work in the news system of Gali Tzahal – in any case, I am referring to the situation that exists today in the field of psychiatry.

Regards,

Assaf Binyamini.
